Hello!

Lets see, I have seen about 4 new movies lately, and realized I forgot to mention one last time so I suppose I will begin there!

MY BLOODY VALENTINE 3-D ***

This movie is as bad as it looks! This movies downfalls are the usual, awful script with predictable ending, and bad acting. However it makes up for both of these areas with it's 3-D presentation. The film was obviously meant to be view in 3-D since there are many, many things that come popping out of the screen at your face (most notably an eyeball!) I don't know how they will transfer this film to DVD or if they will include 3-D glasses, but if they don't than the movie will loose all of it's good qualities. This movie has to be seen in theaters in all it's 3-D glorry to truely be understood as the gory master peice that it is.

APACOLYPTO ***1/2

I consider this movie a combination between Braveheart and The Passion of the Christ. It's super gory and very thrilling, the plot is mediocre but that doesn't really matter. It's really a feast for the eyes and the adreanal glands! It's the story of a Mesoamerican tribe that is captured as slaves and sacrifices by the Mayans. Lots of decapitations and fatal body piercings!

PARADISE NOW****

Two palestine friends are chosen to be suicide bombers on an attack of israeli soldier. Something goes wrong and they are seperated and one must decide if he is to continue the task alone. This movie taught me alot about the Israeli/Palestine conflict and encouraged me to look deeper into it. Humans no matter who they are see the world from the point of view tha they are right and if you do not agree you must be wrong. There is a filter infront of peoples faces which make us see the world as we want to and not necessarily as it truely is, and some of us believe in what we see through the vail so strongly that we are willing to die inorder to make people see things our way. This story is extremely frightening because of the truths it speaks and it's almost complete understanding of the human condition and what leads people to kill in the name of a cause or a god. Great film!

Coraline 3-D ***1/2

Coraline is freaky! really freaky! It would have made a really good adult horror film but works just as well as a childrens fantasy. The 3-D is alright, but the film was obviously not made with the format specifically in mind. The animation however is absolutley wonderful, I do love stop motion! The story is great and Coreline is cute, probably because she is not all that nice which makes her character quite realistic, and she has blue hair!

The Uninvited ***1/2

The Uninvited is a really good horror film based on a japanese film called "A Tale of Two Sisters." This might be the best J-Horror adaptatin I have seen, it does a good job of being it's own film while only relying on the basic story of the original. The trailers for this movie don't do it justice, but there's no way they could without revealing far too much of the plot, which is often the case with good horror films. Go see it and you wont be dissapointed!

Well that's all for now, untill next time!
